Philipp Hellwig is a lawyer in Berlin and joined JBB in March 2022. Before joining the firm, he worked as a legal officer for a public broadcaster. In addition to broadcasting law and media policy issues, he was involved in the negotiation of program and exclusive agreements as well as the further development of telemedia offerings in public broadcasting.
The clear focus of his legal work is on copyright and media law, data protection law and press law. Philipp Hellwig advises his clients and represents them in dealings with authorities and in court. His clients include cultural and media professionals, journalists, publishers, civil society organizations and start-ups.

Professional Training

Philipp Hellwig studied at the University of Leipzig with a focus on media and information law. After passing the First State Examination in Law, Philipp Hellwig worked as a research assistant in the legal department of a production company for cultural events based in Hamburg. During his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Dresden, he worked for a state media authority and in Berlin for one of the leading boutique law firms in the field of press law and reputation protection.
